Mary Hoyle was born in Quincy, Massachusetts, home of the Presidents. A lover of life and always involved with the visual, audio and performing arts in some way, Hoyle was prompted by a keen interest in human emotions to pursue portraiture during her mid-thirties. Her teachers, Constance Flavell Pratt, pastel portraiture and courtroom artist and Clement W. Micarelli, multi-faceted artist encouraged her to continue using pastel, charcoal and oil, expanding her portfolio with figure drawing, pet portraits, landscape and photography. Hoyle has been a happy Cape Cod resident in Brewster, Massachusetts since 2010 and now lives with her adopted Dominican Republic dogs, China and Amelia.
